Don’t forget to pick up your issue of September’s issue of More magazine, which will be on newsstands on Tuesday, August 27, 2013.
As a girl, she learned to shoot a gun—and to stick to her guns in making her dreams happen. The star of TV’s top-rated Rizzoli & Isles talks about faith, family and swimming against Hollywood’s political tide.
She may be known for her gorgeous looks, her rambunctious sense of humor, her commitment to faith and family and her steadfast refusal to change her politics to fit the local fashion. But one of Angie Harmon’s strengths—her dedication to her profession—may have been underestimated: For the past few weeks, she has been filming her TNT crime series Rizzoli & Isles while walking around (and nabbing bad guys) on a badly injured ankle.
“I tripped over a C-stand [a piece of lighting equipment] on the set,” she explains when we meet for dinner in a noisy L.A. bistro. “To save face, I kept saying, ‘It’s fine, it’s fine,’ but inside I’m thinking, It’s bad, it’s -really bad. You know when you’re so hurt, you feel like you’re going to throw up? But they just said it was a sprain—until the seventh doctor, the one I just saw. He said, ‘We’re looking for a break or a bruise or a tear.’ Then he pulled up my X-ray and said, ‘You have all three.’ ”
It’s a development that could have been scripted for the sassy, self-assured detective she plays on one of cable TV’s highest-rated shows—and soon was. While another actress might have been down for the season, Harmon returned to production, with her character, the admirably athletic Jane Rizzoli, simply pausing to ice her ankle.
I’ve added HD caps of last night’s Rizzoli and Isles episode No One Mourns The Wicked.

NY Daily News put up a sneak of Angie Harmon in More magazine. Below is the cover of the September issue of the More magazine. I’ve added the shoot to the gallery and you can also look at the pictures at the source link.
The actress tells More magazine that she is still surprised when viewers of the TNT cop show push for the title characters to become more than just friends.
“Rizzoli & Isles” star Angie Harmon has a great working dynamic with co-star Sasha Alexander, but she was still surprised when fans of the show pushed for their characters to become more than friends.
“It was like, ‘We’re not going to watch your show because you won’t write them making out,’ ” Harmon told More in the magazine’s 15th-anniversary issue.
Nowadays, Harmon and Alexander, 40, wink at their lesbian following. “Whether we’re gay or straight, it doesn’t matter,” Harmon said. “We’re all women. We all have the same wonderful situations happen to us, the same horrific situations. We all get our hearts broken.”
Harmon, now 41, dished that passing 40 changed her perspective. She described it as “not a midlife crisis, but a midlife wakeup. I’m halfway done. I still have some good years. But I see the clock ticking where I didn’t see it before,” she said.
For Harmon, married to former New York Giants cornerback Jason Sehorn for 12 years, age is a way to appreciate the gifts in her life. “I’ve learned to stop and remind myself to look around and notice who I’m with,” Harmon said. “Then I take that moment to really record what is going on and to make it a great memory — because it is all so fleeting.”

Angie, wishing you a wonderful and amazing birthday, from all the fans at Angie Harmon Online and myself (Haylie), have the best birthday you can possibly have! Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!
For the last three years, she’s played detective Jane Rizzoli, half of a female forensics team on TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles. But for Angie Harmon, 40, the toughest real-life mystery to solve is how to balance marriage and motherhood.
Married for 12 years to football star turned sportscaster Jason Sehorn (he surprised her by popping the question on The Tonight Show in 1998), the mom of three daughters—ages 9, 8, and 4—reveals her wife/career mom/wonder woman secrets. “We don’t get out Friday nights early enough to catch a flight home,” Angie tells YourTango about missing her family back in Charlotte, NC while filming. “So I’m here. We sometimes meet in Texas, a 2½ hour flight for both of us. I miss my kids, so it’s hard, but my children are so understanding.”
YourTango: How do you keep your marriage solid and happy?
Angie Harmon: You have to be really considerate of each other, really kind to each other. It’s a lot of work, really.
YourTango: You had one of the most memorable proposals in history on The Tonight Show. That was a lot to live up to.
Angie Harmon: A lot of pressure!
YourTango: I’ll say! What was the last romantic thing he did for you?
Angie Harmon: My iPhone 4 has had a crack in it and I don’t have the time to go get another one, I’m on set all the time. So Jason went and bought one in Charlotte and FedExed it to me on set. Things like that.
YourTango: What’s the best love advice you’ve heard?
Angie Harmon: Kyra Sedgwick told me, “Keep your heart where your feet are” and that’s incredibly difficult to do. It takes a lot of concentration. You’ve got to be conscientious of each other.
